2020 will be remembered in history for many reasons. The completion of the protracted Brexit withdrawal negotiations first quarter was shortly followed by the arrival of COVID-19 with all the heartbreak and economic trauma that came in its wake.

During this period Cambridge has found itself at an axis of the national endeavour to get the country, and indeed the world, through the pandemic crisis. Research and therapies driven by the city’s university, health sector and science & technology business base has underpinned economic activity across Cambridge while much of the rest of the country’s businesses have been in lockdown.
