  • Overview

    This BNG scheme will see the creation of a range of habitat types to enhance biodiversity, enhance and buffer existing woodland, and promote wildlife movement across the landscape.

    The Habitat Management and Monitoring Plan for this scheme is currently in development.

  • Developers can secure biodiversity units for the following habitat types:

    • Ponds (priority habitat) of high distinctiveness
    • Reedbeds of high distinctiveness
    • Grassland of medium distinctiveness
    • Heathland and shrub of medium distinctiveness
    • Woodland of medium distinctiveness
    • Individual trees of medium distinctiveness
    • Species-rich native hedgerow with trees – associated with bank or ditch of very high distinctiveness
