Biodiversity net gain initiative creating 99 biodiversity units for sale

• Overview

  Strategically located next to the North Norfolk Coast environmentally designated site (SSSI, NNR, SPA, SAC, and Ramsar), this initiative will buffer and connect priority habitats here.

  The enhancement and creation of species-rich grassland, native scrub, wetland, ditches and hedgerows will help support key target habitats and species identified in the Norfolk Local Nature Recovery Strategy.

  The biodiversity baseline and Habitat Management and Monitoring Plan have been developed for this site, and the legal agreement is being prepared.  

• Developers can secure biodiversity units for the following habitat types:

  • Reedbeds of high distinctiveness
  • Ditches of high distinctiveness
  • Grassland of medium distinctiveness
  • Heathland and shrub of medium distinctiveness
  • Species-rich native hedgerow of medium distinctiveness
