Landscape scale biodiversity net gain initiative within the Cambridgeshire Fens generating over 520 biodiversity units.
The site is located 1.5 miles from the Great Fen project and will see the creation and ehancement of a variety of habitats, contributing to strategic priorities across the landscape.
The biodiversity baseline and Habitat Management and Monitoring Plan have been completed for this scheme.
Developers can secure biodiversity units for the following habitat types:
- Grassland habitats of medium to very high distinctiveness
- Heathland and shrub habitats of medium distinctiveness
- Woodland habitats of medium distinctiveness
- Lake habitats of medium distinctiveness
- Individual trees of medium distinctiveness
- Hedgerow habitats of medium distinctiveness
Location
The 121 ha site is located approx. 7 miles to the northeast of Huntingdon and 11 miles southeast of Peterborough. The scheme sits within the Huntingdonshire LPA and across The Fens and Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire Claylands NCAs.
