A landscape-scale biodiversity net gain scheme providing a wide range of habitat types including grassland, woodland and coastal saltmarsh.
A 283 ha BNG scheme located at Abbotts Hall Farm which will provide biodiversity units within Colchester Borough Council and immediately adjacent to the Maldon District Council region.
A wide range of habitats of varying levels of distinctiveness will be created and enhanced across the farm.
The scheme will be delivered and managed by Essex Wildlife Trust, contributing to their ambitions to protect wildlife and inspire the love of nature.
Developers can secure biodiversity units for the following habitat types:

- floodplain wetland mosaic
- neutral grassland
- wildflower margins
- traditional orchard
- woodland
- reedbed
- coastal saltmarsh
- lakes and ponds
- ditches
- scrub
- hedgerows
Location
The site is located approx. 7 miles southwest of Colchester, within the Colchester LPA area.
