Chequers is Grade II listed and believed to date from the late 16th or early 17th century. Constructed with a timber frame and plastered elevations under a half hipped plain tiled roof and is a fine example of the period with well proportioned rooms and high ceilings. The present owners have improved and modernised the property with care being taken to retain the period features which include open fireplaces, tiled floors, panelled doors, sash windows and exposed timbers.
